Professional Background
- Jaime Aguilar served as a peace officer for the State of California for 30 years and was awarded the medal of valor. In that capacity he worked both the corrections side of law enforcement and the investigations side. Jaime worked as a correctional officer, correctional sergeant, correctional lieutenant and correctional captain for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
- Jaime was appointed to the position of special agent and later promoted to senior special agent, the position he held when he retired. Throughout his career Jaime has honed his interview and investigative skills. Jaime was considered a subject matter expert for his department in the Use of Force. He was also a firearms instructor and master baton instructor.
- As an investigator, Jaime has worked on both administrative and criminal investigations. Some of the investigations included death investigations, officer involved shootings, sex crimes, drug trafficking, insurance fraud, AOE/CEO investigations and unauthorized use of force, to name a few. He has written and served several search warrants for homes, cellphones and places of business. He has also written and served several arrest warrants and testified in court. Jaime was part of the Imperial Valley FBI Task Force as a supervisor. He has also worked undercover in various capacities.
- Jaime has attended the Robert Pressley Institute for Criminal Investigations, Homicide Investigations School, Narcotics Investigation School, Death Investigations School, Informant Handling School, the John Stincelli Interview and Interrogation course and Internal Affairs Academy. He also attended courses on financial fraud and worker’s compensation fraud investigations.
- Prior to his service to the State of California, Jaime was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he attended the Marine Corps Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Course and a Range master course. Jaime also served as a platoon sergeant in the California Army National Guard.
